perhaps someone else has had this problem:
My onboard flash won't work with certain lenses. Mainly, my off brand
autofocus lenses like a sigma 18-35, and a tamron 28-300, both recent
versions of the lens.
It is not reserved exclusively for non pentax lenses either. My pentax
FA 50/2.8 macro won't allow the flash to work.
The AF500FTZ works in any case, but I like to use it for bounce, and the
onboard flash for direct lighting.
The weird part:
any M series or K series manual focus lens, or any third party manual
focus lens will allow the flash to fire normally.
I expect the problem is in communication between the lens and camera
body, but I'm hoping someone here will have experienced this before.
