FLAME ON!! (Just kidding -- <g>) Thanks for the comments, Chris -- they're
much appreciated. This was a shot from my grandson's birthday party almost
three years ago, and we adults were having so much fun that I apparently
didn't pay as much attention to properly composing the horizontal elements
in the shot as I should have. I generally don't like to do too much
geometric manipulation (rotation, extensive cropping, etc.) on scanned
images -- seems too much like "cheating". However, I went back to this
particular image and did a small rotation to get the playground swing and
the top of the building lined up parallel with the egde of the frame. This
only required one degree of rotation! I'm amazed how such a subtle
adjustment can have such a noticeable effect on the overall composition.
Lesson learned! That's what I like about this list and these monthly
galleries.
