Hi Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to comment on all the images of the gallery, your
effort is much appreciated (by me definitely). I used it like a guide of sorts
whilst perusing the gallery. I wish I had the time to add my comments as I
feel reticent to single out and comment on but a few from such an impressive
array of images.
WRT my image this month:
Glad you liked it (an thanks too for comments from other PDMLers), it has
an appeal to me however it is definitely not as powerful as many other
images in the gallery. I chose it to submit as it is quite different from the
images I most often shoot. Mostly my images are contrasty and saturated
(Aussie sunshine/artificial light), I tried (successfully in this case) to preserve
the muted tones and limited contrast, apart from that I think it is visually
appealing due to the similarity of colour and tone against the counterpoints of
shapes and space, there is a virtual reflection between the top and bottom of
the image. It is cropped as close as I could get to the edges of the film and it
seems to lose much impact if cropped any other way.
If you literally want a closer look then check:

I will leave it here for a week.
Cheers,
