Thanks for the info, Cotty. Too bad. You know, it's not a factor just for "regular" manual focusing, but it's also a significant "big deal" for using "focus confirmation": With "Pentax-style" focusing, the viewfinder focusing arrows point in the direction to turn the focus ring. With "backwards" focusing, the arrows end up pointing the "wrong" way. Tokina even made a point of this in some of its lens literature - Tokina lenses focus in the direction that viewfinder arrows point. Fred
