Well, me for instance :-)

Having used Pentax SLR's for 25 years now, and accumulating over 20 nice lenses for
them
I think this first DSLR by Pentax will do quite nicely for a few years!

The 15mm will be an 'acceptable' wide angle, but more important, the FA 200mm f/28 and
the A* 300mm f/2.8 + 1.7 AF converter will be extremely usefull!

It will replace my MZ-3 / PZ-1 / LX trio for some nature and wildlife shooting (thanks
to the 1.5 factor)
and replace the now 3 year old 3 megapixel Canon Powershot for a lot of other things.

The 6 megapixel is surely enough for 95% of my shooting, and for the rest I still
have my film-camera's including the 67II.

So I am quite happy with the *ist D !!

Of course a full-frame 15 megapixel KAF3 (or KAF4 :-) Pentax DSLR
will be a nice addition to it in about two years :-)

I think the judgement has dropped a bit too much to the negative side over the last
day,
of course this *ist D is not the ultimate digital, but there was no reason to expect
that either.

I think Pentax did a good job for theit final entry to this market ...
