That is a common problem. I had it fixed some time ago. In fact, the people who repaired the camera made a custom spare part for it, made of metal, because they told me that the plastic shaft that Pentax uses to raise the RTF on the MZ-5 breaks easily. It hasn't broken down again.
I think the Z-1p has similar problem too. Mine hasn't broken but I would probably try metal pin if it did.
