I understand that.  My point (with the "as much") was only to add
and encourage civility.  I will continue a positive tone, even
toward those with whom I disagree, and especially toward those
who make comments about who should speak and who shouldn't.

There's room for civil OT discussions, but they should be taken off-list
after (a) negative discourse or (b) more than a few responses.
People interact about the matters they find important.

It's the civility I'm more concerned about, but nobody likes to
see things begun with negative or disparaging comments about their faith.
Consequently they don't leave things alone very easily.  It can hurt
some pretty deeply.  Responses should be anticipated.  Civility is
what should be anticipated.

Not so. As a few people have indicated, while some OT threads can be 
interesting,
they do not want to wade through political or religious debates here.
That is want some of us fine offensive.
