Brendan,
Let us know if getting your assistant fixed helps any. I wouldn't
think that it helps or hinders their ability to destroy equipment, but
am always willing to try something new :-)

Rob,
Congratulations! Any cover is great with any equipment. As we all
know, the photographer makes the picture not the camera. Well done!

Still, you get double the reach, not to mention that there's no such
thing as a 35mm 600/2.8.

Yeah, this is a problem. I wouldn't buy into anything that doesn't
have anything wider than 28mm.
I'll ask again: who else has signed on to produce 4/3 hardware?

Maybe I'm weird, and have weird friends, but I came to Pentax from Nikon,
and bought a bunch of stuff from a fellow who was leaving Pentax for Nikon.
Now, with the *ist D on the horizon, he is thinking he may come back.
His camera right now is an Oly 5050.

One of the things that IS attractive about Pentax cameras is the compact
size and weight. This seems to something that Pentax also places importance
on, as all their cameras are small for their class.
No surprise to me that as a group, we seem to be disinterested in bulky
cameras.
For me, size was a big factor in going with Pentax. I already had a pretty
big camera with the 6x7 and 4x5, and couldn't see going to a big 35mm camera
and having to put up with a dinky little negative.

Those who have been around 35mm photography for more than a couple of
decades will remember "Leica Leaders". Kodak stopped cutting long leaders in
the early 80s, I think with the introduction of the VR films. Up till then,
their film had long leaders.

Geeze, my Triumph Trident was like that. Prettiest darned bike you could
imagine, and terrific road manners, but the thing required more maintenance
than an eighteen year old mistress. Four hours of foreplay for an hours ride
was pretty much the deal, and by the time I sold it, my right thigh was 4
inches bigger than my left one.

Thanks Brother bruce.
I'm sure going to get used to this big camera. I love
how easy it is to switch the metering patterns and the
ML button. Add the bright viewfinder, the improved
winding mechanism, the built in grip, and exposure
compensation and I'm in hog heaven. I also really like
the infomation displayed in the viewfinder.
Now, all we have to do is have Pentax come up with
nice wide and short tele lenses for the 67II that have
max apertures faster than f2.4, say a 45mm f1.7 and a
135 f2?

I don't know why we are all so "hung up" on the pro market. I can take just
as good pictures as any pro with my cameras... and with the pentax digital
slr ... C'mon Pentax 35mm is not aimed at pros, never will... Olympus is
probably the same. Nikon and Canon can have the pros. I just want a very
good
35 mm and digital system.
Pentax gives it to me just fine.... I'll worry about getting the
professional
results...

Hi Pål,
look at the 2.8/300. It has a filter size of 112mm like the a 35mm 2.8/300
and it is no smaller.
The lenses should have the size of the Pentax 110 Pocket system, as this has
also a factor of 2.
So the diameter should be only 56 mm.
So what is the advantage of 4/3?
A big ugly looking nonsexy camera
Lenses which are not smaller.
Lenses which cannot be used at a film body to make slides?
For me the 4/3 is not convincing.

Guess we'll see.
