The equipment is periodically inventoried by forces outside of our group. But it doesn't have a NIST number, it has an NBS number (the National Institute of Standards and Technology used to be the National Bureau of Standards), and a tech I talked to said she thinks they threw out the NBS records and don't track that equipment any more. I'll have to try to find out more. Ah, bureacracy!
