The MZ-S while part of the MZ line is a different beast entirely. It's is more like a MX to the ME family. I expect
the plan was to keep it in the lineup long after rest of the MZ cameras were only a memory.

Consider the MZ-S is a relatively new and also the most expensive model, I guess it would be the last to be dropped in the MZ/ZX line. But that's just a guess.

I wonder of the MZ-S will be discontinued. I would
really like a MZ-Sn with the new AF system, beter AF
selector, weather sealing, etc.

Also, I wonder if the replacement for the MZ-S is a
film-based version of the *ist-D. Somehow I think not,
however????

Anyway, whatever Pentax do, I would really like to see
the MZ-S stay in the line-up or an updated version of
it OR a camera that follows the same lines.
