Some of you may remember that I rolled the dice and bought a Leica IIIf
with Summicron 50/2.0 from a seller with zero feedback. The price was
$450. The picture of the camera was small and not very sharp, and the
seller noted only that the camera was in "good" condition. Well it
turned out that the seller was a little old lady who had inherited the
camera. I received it today. Camera and lens are excellent plus. The
only visible flaws on the camera are a slight brassing of the slow speed
dial and some faint rub marks on the base plate. The lens has a wee bit
of dust inside, but the glass and coating are pristine. The shutter
sounds very good and everything works smoothly. I'm very pleased. After
practicing with the Russian clone for the last couple of weeks, I was
able to load the Leica in less than two minutes. Piece of cake. Gotta go
shoot something. Sorry about another OT post, but just had to share.
