Well slap my ass and call me Penelope Pitstop. I just looked up in the 
Route 66 Britain 99 and sure enough, there's a place called Mutley in 
Plymouth on the south coast of England :-)

Actually, a Mutley snigger is very difficult to do unless you're a heavy 
smoker (which I am not) or an asthmatic (which I am not). It's a type of 
cheeky laugh that an American cartoon character called Mutley does - 
downtrodden sidekick of Dick Dastardly. I can do it (just), and a 
colleague can do it very well ideed.
