I've used my Pentax 45-125 for over 20 years now. It is my favorite
lens. Not the fastest or lightest lens I own but very handy focal range
and sharp as a tack for a zoom. I've owned some non-Pentax zooms in the
80-200mm range but this one beats them hands down.
I rarely go anywhere without it. Haven't tried it for portraits. I'd
probably want something softer and a little faster to control DOF.
