Good news!

Additionally - it has another position, i.e. the white mark on non-F/FA  
lenses is useless to attach the lens in dark surroundings.

That was my impression, too.

Either Pentax will implement this feature in the final version or their  
pre-information are wrong. We'll have to wait and see.

Let's hope that this restriction is related to the prototype, only. The  
*ist D is not an entry level modell as the *ist. Considering this and  
all I have read and heard so far I'm quite optimistic that the *ist D  
will be fully compatible to all Pentax lenses.

Thanks for your report - I think we have a quite complete picture of the  
actual *ist/*ist D situation.
