> Where would the world be without a United States of America? Are you sure you want to hear answers to this one? Somehow I don't all the replies would be to your liking.
Yes, do answer it. Where do you want to start? At 1910? ;1914? 1919? 1938? 1941? 1944? 1948? Yes, again where would our world be; our planet? Where would France be? Where would England be? Where would Europe be. We clean up the mess that is made; a mess made by countries who refused to act and stop tyranny before it grew; we rebuild. then we leave. Not that we are forced to leave. Everyone has a gripe. We didn't colonize Africa, Asia or Europe. We didn't subjugate Europe. We didn't occupy anyone. we came; we cleaned up; we rebuilt and we forgave. Take away the USA and Germany, Europe and wonderful France would be speaking another language; where would Japan be? Where would Africa be. The world has something to say about America but let it get in trouble and its, "Help, America." The French are like anyone else just plain rude. I admit I've never been there and will probably never go. But I travel extensively to Italy and have friends who travel frequently to France. When we compare we agree that: The French resent Americans and their culture. They go out of their way to be rude and abusive (from people who love the country but not the people) The Italians welcome Americans and their culture never fearing it but convert you (for the duration of your stay) to theirs. In this case we'll leave the judgement to the American troops who free Iraq and see what they find. The French seem awful scared as to the records that will be uncovered. My quote, "G-D bless the English speaking peoples of the world" is a paraphrase of an inscription I saw on a building in London. It said something like "G-D bless the English speaking peoples of the world who came to our aid in our darkest hour." I don't know which building but I was very moved by this thanks to those who helped the brave English during their darkest hours. Sorry for the digression from Pentax, but I'll make this promise. I'll visit London; I'll raise my Pentax and I'll take a picture of this building. Pentax *ist, BG-20 grip, 31/1.8 limited, Kodak Portra UC probably at F16 / 1/400th. Now its Pentax linked.
