Now I have to put in a word - the durability of ANY digital SLR is
highly
overrated. My company chose to buy Nikons. The private photogs in
the area
choose Canon. Since I know all of them pretty well, I get to ask a
lot of
questions and be observant. What I've seen is a lot of cameras
falling
apart. I can't begin to tell you how many Nikons our company has
replaced
from normal (pj) wear and tear. It's pretty disheartening to see
cameras
held together with duct tape because there are bits and pieces
literally
falling off. The Canons used by my friends (who don't use them as
hard as
our guys use the Nikons) don't take many pictures because they spend
most of
their time in the shop. Again - bits and pieces falling off or
things going
haywire in general. I know one who actually quit as a photographer
because
he couldn't afford to keep repairing his equipment. Quite frankly, I
don't
see how Pentax could be any worse. I haven't had one yet that's had
anything
fall off it.
