Hi Pentaxians, Just thought I drop a quick line to share the highs and the lows...
Jostein Oksne is in London for a few days on business (from Norway) and took the coach up to Oxford on Sunday morning. After a morning swim at a local pool, and a lunch of homemade soup, we went for an afternoon stroll, cameras in hand. Jostein had brought his Z1 and a few lenses, and I took my whole digi kit along with tripod - I'll post some pics soon. The weather was fabulous: touching on 20c (nearly 70f) and we had a great foto-roam. Bear in mind that there is 30cm of lying snow in Jostein's front garden in Oslo ;-) Sad then that the comraderie and wondeful afternoon was tinged with great sadness for me to learn of the death of a colleague in Iraq. British ITV News journalist Terry Lloyd had died in a gun battle near Basra (with 2 others missing). I met Terry only 6 weeks ago when we worked together on a story in Oxford about a man who was so insensed by the council putting road calming humps outside his house (late night trucks rumbled over them and kept him awake) that he dug them up with a JCB (digger). I spent a couple of hours with Terry and found him to be one of the nicest and most professional reporters I have met. I can understand the mountain of sorrow and praise that followed news of his demise. I'm sure he will be sadly missed. Cheers, Cotty _____________________________ Oh swipe me!
