Hi T,

on 24 Mar 03 you wrote in pentax.list:

That was my first impresion, too. I tried it on the Cebit.

ACK. I don't know why those pieces have to be so complicated. Maybe they
think that customers will equate more buttons with more technology...

At least Optio 330/430RS, 450/550 and the Optio S have an internal
memory of 11MB and work without a memory card. As 11MB are absolute
nonsense for working with I always asked what it is intended for. Now I
know - you can try such an Optio in a store but not a competitor without
internal memory ;-)

I think it I ths speed that makes the 1D more expensive than the D60/
10D, D100 or S2.

A nice comparison of D100 and S2 can be found here:

The S2 seems to be the better choise, as far as I have heard and read.
It seems to better regarding user interface (better than Nikon and
Canon) and it can be used with AA batteries if you can do without the
internal flash. D100, S2 and even Kodak DSC14n are based on the F80
iirc. This means that they cannot meter with any old manual lens (i.e.
any lens without chip). As metering with those lenses is generally
possible (as shown in the F100, F5 and D1) I cannont understand, why
Nikon doesn't realize it in an expensive DSLR.

Cheers, Heiko
