The #1 reason to get a battery pack is the improved recycling time. A full discharge on an Af500FTZ usually takes about 10 seconds to recycle. It's 1 or 2 secs with the pack. If you shoot at less then full power than it's basically instantaneous recharge for a frame or 2, depending on the amount discharged. tv
