I have a question for the engineers on the list. Given all the talk lately
about the crippled mount and whether Pentax will drop the mechanical
aperture coupling on the Kaf3 mount, would it be possible to design a
device, similar to a tele-converter, that would take the info from the
mechanical coupling of a pre-A lens, convert it to electrical info that
would be fed to the correct pins so that the metering system on the camera
knew the correct aperture? You could use optical elements to regain infinity
focus. Would this solve most of the crippled mount problems.

Pentax. If you are listening and use this idea I want a large MP full frame
DSLR as compensation (when you come out with one) <VBG>
