I was asking about the sides. What I like about Domkes is their
absence of much padding. The bag than nicely clings to my body and has
sort of crumpled look, unlike the overpadded Lowepros which look like
boxes. Makes easier to carry and much easier to work out of. Somebody
differentiated it as "shooters bag" and "alpinist bags"(lowepros,..).
Besides, my Pentaxes are even rougher and tougher than me ;-)

I bought and returned the Lowepro AW300 for this reason. It swallowed less gear but bulkier than the F6.

The LX with winder will fit with lens attached? Would you know? They
stated it's 10.5cm wide inside, the LX+winder is more. I can always
put it there with lens off though.

That depends. If the front pockets aren't loaded (because the front pockets would be competing space with the main compartment when fully loaded) and you should be able to fit the LX with Winder with a 50/1.4 (without hood) in it (camera back facing your body, lens facing the front pocket). However, you will be forced to use the supplied 1 section insert. The optional 3 section insert doesn't allow that much space.

I am perhaps oldfashioned (despite my age) but I was thinking about
_paper_ notebook ;-) Which should fit comfortably. My photography
semibiz would have to pay really well if I was to afford a digital SLR
AND notebook computer both. I will be glad if I will get the DSLR.

What I liked about the 802 was the additional full size front pocket
(on which are the two front pockets). In which could fit a small
notebook computer even with cameras inside, perhaps, or additional
sheet of padding for really rough conditions, or my portfolio, other
papers,... What I dislike about the 802 is the depth (and no funny
comments this time please ;-)

Anybody here has the 802?

I have seen press photographers used the 802 but I have never inspected one closely. I think if you plan to put a thick paper notebook along with your camera in the bag, the 803 is too thin for this, although you can still fit it in the outside pocket (between your body and the bag, means the notebook will not be protected at all).

Alan Chan
