I can confirm it is easily overlooked, I got myself an Optio-S yesterday too. Really amazed at the size and weight of it. It replaces an over 2-year old Canon S20, and while that was 3 megapixels as well it is MUCH bigger and heavier! Also, the Optio has way more options and settings than the Canon had, including some simple things like display of F-stop and shutter speed, or even a live histogram ... Another thing that amazed me was the very good macro capability. In it's 'super macro' setting it covers an area of only 36x27 mm, still with a very usable DOF.
