I can't speak to those lenses, since I haven't used them. I did notice that KEH (http://www.keh.com/) has an FA 300/4.5 in BGN (bargain) condition for only $275! I've bought a number of lenses in BGN condition from them, and only on one has there been any visible degradation, and that was on the hood, not the lens. > Also, will the 300mm f/4 lenses work with the Pentax AF 1.7x converter? Well, I can say for sure that the A 200/4 works with it. At f/4, though, the AF isn't as fast or as accurate as it is with a faster lens. With my Tamron 90/2.5 and the 1.7 it's good, and the 1.7 with an A 50/1.4 is downright snappy. Of course, it should be quicker and more accurate on a shorter focal length lens. TTYL, DougF KG4LMZ
