Lasse: There are two ways to respond to people, like BR, who make offensive remarks on this list:
1. Ignore them 2. Tell them that you do not condone such rude behavior, and request that they stop. You did neither. Instead, you countered with a rude remark of your own, about BR's nationality (and mine). That is as bad -- or at least almost as bad -- as the conduct you claim to deplore. I read you explanation of your remark, and it does not convince me that the remark was not rude and intended to reflect badly on Americans in general. I think that you were (rightly) upset by BR's remark , and responded in anger. While that may be understandable, it still has no place on this list. I spent 2 weeks in Denmark, Norway and Sweden last year, and I enjoyed both the scenery and the people I met very much. I had expected better of you, I guess. Dan.
