You can also concentrate on taking pictures without thinking about the menu too much: I have set the AF to "spot" as it is faster and the speed to 50 in order to reduce the noise. The last step is to say the camera, that it shall keep this setting after switching off (memory or "Speicher" setting). The rest of the menu settings is OK.
