My Zone VI cold light head arrived today, so I disassembled my old Omega
B22 and installed the new light source. Obviously, I can't use the
filter drawer for VC printing, since it's above the light. Which means
I'd have to filter between the lens and the paper. I don't like the idea
of a gel filter coming between my print and lens, so I think I'll use
graded paper. Any suggestions on a good, easy to find, graded paper?
The Zone VI head has two wires exiting the lamp housing, one to a 110
volt outlet, the other to the power supply. A second 110 line is
attached to the power supply. The power supply has a warning sticker
attached that recommends against unplugging the power supply with the
switch on. That would seem to preclude using the light with my Omega
repeating timer. Does it? If I were to use the Omega timer which power
cord would I plug into the timer? I recall some mention here of the Zone
VI Compensating Timer. Is that the only timer that can be used with the
cold head? I'm looking forward to printing a few negs with this new
setup. Hopefully, I'll be ready to go by tomorrow.
