You never do. Perfect exposure is the exposure I want. I want to go to a scene I decide how I want it exposed and then get it coinsistently when the film get back. This I have in common witn every serious shooter, professional and amateur alike. Thats all exposure is about. There are no universal perfect exposure but if the photographer is going to be something else than a snapshooter he must be able to nail the exposure HE WANTS, regardless what exposure that may be, consistently with precision.
