I'll keep it there. I presume that the problem was that in your attempt to fight magenta cast you cut too much red. Magenta casts are very stubborn, the only way to effectively fight them is to go to the red channel curve, add some inflection points and flatten the curve in some portions. Very nasty, and to relate it to other thread, I get a very unpleasant one on film that ran through airport X-ray.
