As indeed I did when I was in your position. Having since purchased a Manfrotto 486RC2 ball head some months ago, I can truly say that it has proven faultless and well up to the task. It locks solidly at any angle through 90 deg and unlocks smoothly. More to the point, it is much quicker than a pan and tilt model and now I would not consider anything else.
