SuperProgram = Super A
ProgramPlus = Program A

The button you are talking about must be the viewfinder light.  Use it in
the dark to see the information displayed on the two LCD screens inside the
viewfinder.

When the batteries get low, you get "0000" flashing on the camera's
displays (external and viewfinder).  When the batteries fail completely,
the camera will stop operating.  There are no mechanical speeds of any
sort.
