In truth, I quite like the MX. I think the reason for less talk about
them is that they're pretty simple, but not in a bad way...I mean, how
many questions can there possibly be about the operation of the MX? It
also doesn't appear to have as many idiosyncrasies or odd behaviors as
the LX (which is also not a bad thing). Plus, there appear to be more
flavours of LX (different shutter locks, ISO dials, and so on, not to
mention all the finders and oddball accessories).
As to purchasing power, if I hadn't found such a steal of a price on
that LX the weekend my ME Super bit the big one (RIP, ME Super, at least
until I raise the money to fix you up), I'd have bought an MX. They're
really a steal on the used market for just how tough a camera they are.
