Overpriced yes. On the other hand.. a pre-production (or possibly production) model was supplied for a preview to Phil Askey and he'll post a preview later today (according to his site). When did Pentax say the *ist-D was going to be available again ?
I'm beginning to think that the *ist-D is going to fall by the wayside by the time it is released - no one seems to have a pre production model in their hands for testing or such and in the meantime, they are getting trumped by companies that actually have produced a digital SLR. So although it's overpriced, I bet you'll be able to hold the E-1 in your hands at your local camera shop before you'll be able to hold the *ist-D.
