First of all, I don't know why nobody has done this yet, it seems long overdue since medium format has been doing it since... how long?
Maybe most cameras where too cheap. It was easier and just as cheap to have two.
Second: those Leica R systems are GORGEOUS!
At least their price-tags are. I�ve tried saving for one, but couldn�t even cope with the inflation :-)
