Even if the *ist D is in the price range of the 10D (not "D10"), it won't
make too much of a difference.
Canon already has a "Rebel D" in the works.
They are announcing it sometime this fall.
A "consumer" based DSLR with a smaller feature set and not as robust a body
as the 10D.
Price?
$800 USD Street.

The *ist D still has yet to see the light of day unfortunately.
