No topic, no thread is safe because they have to jump in and "correct" the poor ignorant misled Pentax users to the proper doctrine. It's as if they are saying, "I hate Pentax, and if you don't you're an idiot."
What about the "I swear by Pentax, and if you don't you're an idiot." Or a "non-customer". Or "well done, Pentax, that's what these idiots having K/M lenses deserve".
There are several issues that were pointed out here in the past months:
- the lack of presence of Pentax gear on the shelves, and the difficulties in getting what you want by mail order only from remote places, including directly from Japan, especially when QC ain't that great and you may have to return the item several times
- the Pentax DSLR being late
- the prospect of a new series of lenses without aperture ring
- the prospect of a new series of cameras, including $1400 ones, that don't have the aperture coupling ring anymore
- the lack of any advancement with technologies such as in-lens focus motor/full time manual
What the people expressing these got from the "cheerleaders" was a flood of insults. Culminating with a "kiss my a**" from the list owner.
I'm sorry to say that IMHO such "cheerleading" is totally counterproductive. It does nothing but adding insult to injury.
If you think that this list should be a place of unconditional Pentax worshipping, then please let us know ASAP, so we let you guys pray in peace to your Pentax god.
