Hi Brent,
Yeah -- what Paul said. I've got a KM and a K1000, and they both operate
this way. The KM has a single knob controlling the shutter speed and film
speed, just like the K1000. (That dial under the rewind crank is just a
little reminder for the user of what type of film is in the camera -- it's
not hooked up to anything electrical, optical, or mechanical. I'm pretty
sure the situation is exactly the same on the KX and K2.) My KM user manual
describes the usable range of the meter. Can't remember exactly what
settings cause the meter to be out of range, but it does peg at full-scale
deflection on the + side when the light level is too low. The K1000 does
the same thing. Yours is working correctly.
