In response to Steven Desjardins' query > I want to buy a cheap P&S (<75$, but with a zoom) so I thought I would > look on KEH for something used, not necessarily Pentax. Can anyone make > suggestions about older P&S's I might look for? I really know nothing > about P&S cameras. > > The current KEH Pentax P&s's are the IQzoom 700 (35-70) and the Espio > 140 38-140. > I went through this with my wife several years ago. After my researching as to which P&S gave the most value, it ultimately came down to which camera had a reasonable zoom and optics THAT FELT COMFORTABLE IN HER HANDS. She wound up with an Olympus Infinity Zoom 230. It fit her hands well, she was comfortable with the viewfinder and the zoom range (38-90). It's lasted well, and she's had quite a few pictures published in various local and national newspapers as well as company publications.
Of course, it now rests in a drawer while she uses our latest toy - an Optio 430. The digital aspect helps her get the information to editors with greater immediacy and she's expanded to company websites. Larry
