...with a metal sub frame. Sounds fine to me. My D60 is the same (in fact Phil Askey comments that the *ist D reminds him of the D60) and in nearly a year of ownership it hasn't borne 1 scrape or scratch, and it has rattled around on occasion with lenses/flashes loose in a bum bag (fanny pack).
