"After seeing that photo I feel a lot better about the future of Pentax DSLRs and the possibility of getting full-frame eventually. The DA looks like another cheapo FA-J sort of lens."
It may be cheaply built (no aperture ring), but the constant f4 aperture suggests that it is a lens intended for serious users. I bet it'll be priced higher than the FAJ 18-35, and probably give better results. The focal length range 35 mm. equivalent (24.5 - 69 mm.) seems designed to appeal to those who like constant aperture standard zooms, like 28-70/80 or 24-70. Is this the digital replacement for the FA 28-70 f4?
I am not planning to buy a starkistdee myself, but may buy one for my lab. I had planned to get the FA 20-35 f4 to go with it. But I may get this lens instead.
