There was a thread about the lack of sharpness on the *ist-d sample
pictures. One of the things that is open for debate is should sharpening be
done in camera or in post processing. I prefer too little vs.. too much in
camera sharpening as the control in Photoshop is usually much better. The
thing that did bother me was that there were no bold colors in any of the
samples. It reminded me of when the Sigma came out and all the examples for
a long while were pastels and muted colors. Again, however, it is easier and
probably better to add saturation and/or contrast in Photoshop then to try
and tone down an overly saturated image. I am glad to see that they are
offering Adobe RGB as a color space option as it has a much larger gamut
then sRGB.
