My prediction: Digital is hear to stay in all of its current areas of utilization, some analogue complementary systems may continue in parallel but they certainly won't be main-stream. More traditionally analogue systems will be digitized as interface electronics becomes quicker and cheaper. Digitizing information unifies the data, unification means that storage systems can be shared and information transport and manipulation is easy. There 'ain't no goin' back.
