Actually, Ann, you should be able to do that. I back up my data files
(hundreds of directories) to CD-R. Unfortunately I do not use the software
you have so I can not tell you how to go about it with yours. Roxio
(Adaptec) software (I have the HP version) has the capability to format a
CR-RW so you can use it just like a big floppy.

Sometimes, you get best results burning a CD-R when you copy an image to the
HD and then copy that to the CD in one write. Coping files separately
(multi-session) limits you somewhat, and the CD can only be read on a
Multi-Session drive (most CD drives now-a-days are multi-session, but some
older drives and pure audio drives are not).
