Enough to make it a viable operating system sitting on viable hardware
(all made by the same viable company) and most important of all,
providing a viable alternative to what would otherwise be a complete and
utter monopoly on choice in personal computers (Linux etc notwithstanding).

Really, I'm not 'for' Macs. I'm 'for' personal choice. That's why I
believe that everyone - including the folks on this list - should have
the necessary freedom to choose what system they use to get online or
crunch numbers or write letters or process photos. If you choose a PC,
absolutely fine, no problem with that. But just because there are other
users of other systems out there, especially in a minority, does not mean
that they are insignificant. Some of them maybe crazed zealots, but
that's only because they believe they have been released from some sort
of demonic grip.

Seriously, I wouldn't push a Mac down anyone's neck. People believe what
they want, and use what they will. Certainly I will point out the
benefits (or rather my operative Cameron will ;-) of Macs but only as a
Pentax user will point out the benefits of (say) SMC over (say) Nikon
glass. You are probably the same - you'd highlight the pluses of SMC but
you wouldn't necessarily ram it down a Nikon user's throat (hang on,
Bill's Canadian - gotta think about this)...

Live and let live! I used to be a liberal, but I couldn't decide which
fence to sit on :-)

Why thank you my dear. I promise this is my last word on this thread.
Unless Bill calls me out.

Cheers,
  Cotty
