I noticed that your scans look clear and crisp. Would
you care to share a little of your technique in
digital scanning/preparation?

The shots on the site are probably 60% slide film with 40% print film. Slide were scanned on a Minolta Dimage Elite, the prints were scanned in an old, first generation HP Photosmart. (Up till the most recent revision, which I just downloaded a week ago, the Minolta soft ware was horrible at color correcting for print film. The new driver is a big improvement, but still not as good as the old HP.)

Scans are done at the maximum resolution (2820 for the Minolta, 2400 for the HP.) I try to do any adjustments to the large file.  I do a fair amount of cropping, followed by global levels adjustments, resample to the display size, and then sharpen with the Corel "directional sharpen" filter.  Everything is saved as a Tiff and compression is done with ACDSee, which seems to be very good at automatically compressing to a small file size without hurting image quality too much.
