I actually recently saw a new MZ-S on the shelf next to a new PZ-1p at a Ritz camera store. The salesperson I spoke with is a Pentax fan and had the (languishing) PZ-1p sent from another store just to show people next to the MZ-S. They've been there for quite a while.
