I popped into The Camera Exchange (my preferred dealer) yesterday and asked nicely if they could arrange a test of a *ist-D when it is available. I got a call back today to say that they expect to have one in two weeks and the price would be AUD$2675 (inc tax) if I decide to buy. (EOS 10D is $2900 locally). Apparently there is another person lined up for a test too.
Just on the off chance (as they don't usually stock Pentax) I tried the Vanbar website. The link below shows the results.
