I know what you mean - I've still got a few M-series lenses in the bag, too.
But the writing has been on the wall for some time - the MZ-50 was the first
camera that offered less than full compatibility with those older lenses.
And, lest we forget, the A-series lenses *are* twenty years old; anything
manufactured in the last twenty years will work just fine on the new body.
Over the years I've picked up a couple of "A" versions of lenses I already
owned in the older mount, because I much prefer using the body thumbwheel
on the PZ-1p to set the aperture. I'm a big fan of the Hyper modes, and
am really pleased to see the *ist-D has gone back to that style of controls.

If I owned any of the older K-mounts that didn't have reasonable equivalents
in the newer mount (85/1.8, 200/2.5, and maybe even the 55/1.8) I'm sure I'd
be somewhat less philosophical about this. As it is, the only pre-"A" lenses
I had left were the M 80-200 I've just sold (to finance an FA 80-320 purchase)
and one or two two lenses I'm not overly fond of, including a M 28/2.8
