Specifically, what lens IS it? Make, style, etc., etc. M-42 or K-mount? Did you have it set on Manual or Auto when you tried this? Etc.
EXxample: I took an SMC Takumar 1.4/50mm, set the lever on Auto, and wound the aperture ring. Nothing at all happened to the aperture blades. They stayed wide open. Like they should have. If I put it on Manual and rotate the aperture ring, the blades open and close...like they should.
