Many years ago I purchased a Tamron (I believe) 500 mirror for my M series bodies and K-1000. There was noticable loss of sharpess but contrast really took the big hit. It eventually was stolen from my car while on a trip (along with a Vivitar 283 flash and SMC-M 135/3.5 lens). I replaced the flash and the 135 but not the mirror lens. I don't think the mirrors can compare image-wise to the optical tele's but the optical lens can't compare to the mirror in price. If you need a long lens at an affordable price, by all means try one. I've got one shot with the 500 mirror on my web site: http://people.mn.mediaone.net/sscott2/Text_Files/bottle.htm Regards, Steve S.
