The common/commons in question is the one in Boston.  Whatever folks may
use, the name on every map I have seen calls the area the Boston Common.
Sure, it *should* be called "the commons", based on derivation.  And as
a general term, either is acceptable (especially around New England).
But we aren't talking about commons in general - this is the specific
case of that area of public green space near Commonwealth Avenue.

The term "Boston Commons" seems to have it's widest use applied to a
part of a trendy back bay development (or to some of the hotels).
Neither is somewhere I would consider particularly photogenic.
